crazy CAT!

that's what i call her. or "stupid CAT!" (yes, there's always an emphasis on CAT.) :) or i tell her, "you're a spaz...!" Molly has a lot of spunk. sometimes i look at her while she's ferociously attacking/playing with one of her toys (or one of her 'not-toys') and think that she could almost live in the wild. well, not really, but her nice stripe-age would benefit her, i bet. :) i guess i don't remember our first cat in AZ (keep watching for a future blog on him) being so frisky. maybe i've forgotten. ...i think it's funny (and sometimes annoying) when she wants to chase/attack her tail right while on my lap. or she wants to play with her milk jug ring RIGHT beside me. oh, she has figured out that she likes bathtubs. she has yet to actually climb into ours (it's higher/deeper), but it's a HUGE temptation for her. maybe i should turn the water on her one time--bet that would cure her of her fascination...! :) OH, she was a handful and a half with the Christmas tree. chewing on the branches, pulling ornaments off and attacking them, tugging at part of a strand of lights...she most likely tried drinking the tree's water too. we were frequently trying to get her out of the living room, because if it wasn't the Christmas tree, it was the stuffed Nativity set or back to the (ol') plants' dirt. it became a game for her. the spray bottle helped get her out/away some, but not enough. i actually gave up the day after Christmas. the tree was dying by then anyway, so if she wanted to diet on pine needles, then fine. if she wanted to pull ornaments down, then i'd take it as help for the actual Christmas 'take-down'. as for the Nativity set, baby Jesus is no longer sewn on the manger and i think it's one of the angels whose head is about to fall off, but it's possible that Autumn contributed. :) anyway, for as MUCH as she drives me CRAZY, she is sweet. i've been grateful for her wanting to be near me this past month, when i've been affection-deprived (there have been many a time i've asked her, "but who is going to pet/scratch me??" as i've been petting/scratching her). and i thought it was cute when the other night, after putting Autumn to bed, she was sitting right outside her door (which she usually does when i put the kids to bed; i have to put my foot out first to keep her from darting in)...and then, for the very first time, she stayed there outside A's door. for a good little while. i thought, "wow. maybe this is her act of love on her end of her and A's love/hate relationship." :) ...and i'm grateful she hasn't barfed up a hairball--yet, anyways; cross your fingers and knock on wood... i guess i'll keep her, and keep sweeping up her scattered kitty litter bits on the laundry room floor (which REALLY bugs me...!). :) (photo taken on December 17th)

i love autumn's eyes, they just 'pop' in every pic she's in. cat's sure have their own personalities. Sounds like molly has been a fun addition to the hartungs.

OUr cat Princess did the same things with the tree and ornaments. THis year we had an artificial tree so she didn't drink the water but she did attack the ornaments and try to bite the lights and limbs. She also loves the bathtub. I can't figure out why.

i don't think Cider (our cat) even knew we had a tree. Maybe she did but was scared of it. I never saw her touch it. Molly sounds like more fun!
