with their new get-up from Grandma Lis & Papa Phil
the BIG gift from Santa (that they un-scrolled last) was a note entitling the kiddos to a trip to California this summer.! (it was implied that me and P are invited; at least i think so.) i was kinda nervous about how they'd react to that as the 'main bang', but i was pleased with how exuberant they were about it. i don't think A really grasped it; she doesn't perceive that length of time. ;-) she was still excited about it, probably picking up on the vibes from her brothers. and me. we talked about it for a little bit, wondering when & where & what exactly. it's been a nice thing to have to look forward to. and to save for. well, as best we can when we are already 'vice-grip squeezing' pennies.! anyway....... (A is sporting a Strawberry Shortcake clip from Jeanine and pjs from Grandma Aagard, B's got his pjs from Grandma on too, E had to try on a shirt that he got as a present--of course...we actually all got one from Peter's cougarboard manager; woot.)
after another round of teacakes and cinnamon/orange rolls, the boys put the pushin' and beggin' into overdrive about going sledding at the park. that's become another tradition. i believe they really look forward to it because rare is the time that we ALL go sledding. usually it's just the boys. sometimes with their cousins/friends. we layered up and drove over. i was glad that we had the park to ourselves, except for one or two small families that came and went while we were there. it was a beautiful day....
Missy trying not to smile...i was messing with her, snapping photos of her even when she adamantly protested. hee.
