....so y'all lucky fooooz (as my brother would say) get to submit your ideas for one! the one i like best will win...a prize..., so leave me a comment, ok?? ;-)
i am not a fan of pictures of myself. period. i can tolerate a select several. and when the blue moon comes 'round, you'll actually find me "quite liking" one. generally speaking though, it's unpleasant. being that how it is, please take a pause to feel a special excitement for the photos i'm sharing below...!!
i believe everyone at the park on Christmas Day, at one point or another, had at least a mild chuckle from the crazy sight that was ME: wildly whizzzzzzzing down the slick slope; screaming, eating (flying ice bits), panicking, flailing, wiping (out) and then laughing (due to exhilaration and just a touch of embarrassment). i was resolved to be less 'skeee-rrd' about it and follow my children's examples of bravery. hence, i kept trying. the gaps between attempts were fairly large though; it would take me a decent amount of time to have my courage re-mustered.! i even tried going with the kids...ya know, to 'bond'...and i hoped that by being so close to them, their confidence would rub off on me. they quickly realized that it wasn't too much fun to have mom's screeches in their ears, nor to have the ride end early because of mom's unnerved steering. i think they all so kindly went with me more than once though, if i'm remembering correctly. the boys especially guffawed and snorted their 'disapproval' with my sledding runs, whether they were with me on the sled or not!
since i was determined to get 'better' at it, i had to have a turn with Peter. thought maybe i'd be more successful if he was at the back and not me... (as you can see, i'm holding onto his legs for dear life.) [the odd thing about this pic is, well, let me just put it this way: proximity. if you don't get what i'm saying, ask and i can explain elsewhere.]
...i DID make it past 'the jump' with Peter, but as you can see, not very much farther! Brandon so kindly snapped this lovely view. wondering why i have so much icy snow on my derrière? refer back to the first (lengthy, i know) sentence under the first photo. .....in the end, my confidence had increased and my walloping about had lessened. i still couldn't manage a ride without yelping to some degree and without spraying up snow in some areas while layering it down in others.
ahhhhh.......what a hoot i am....!!
good times, good times.
