OWWWWWWWWWWW...

So, there was a routine power outage (for maintenance or something) last Saturday night after midnight. Somehow it woke up the boys. (And when the power goes out in the night, it seems to always wake up one or the other boy.) First thing we know is that Ethan is beside our bed and it vaguely sounded like he was trying not to cry. Then we hear Brandon crying downstairs. Peter goes down and Brandon is just standing there crying. He tries to ask what's wrong, but Brandon doesn't respond. Finally, he gets the boys re-situated in bed. Next morning, Brandon is standing beside our bed, moaning and crying, saying his back hurts. Lo and behold, he has a big scrape (and some bruising) on his back. How in the world did that get there??? None of us know, not even Brandon. We figure he must've been sleep-walking (which he regularly does), or at least mostly asleep when he got out of bed--probably to come tell us about the power being out (their room gets very dark without the night-light on). And then maybe he tripped & fell on a box of cars on the floor of their room. We have no idea. And he doesn't remember. I can't imagine hurting myself like that and not remembering it. Kinda crazy. ...Anyway, though it caused him a great deal of pain early this week, it's healing well...

Here's a shot of his "owie" taken on Monday night

Hi April! That does look like it hurts! Kids do some strange things. Crazy that he doesn't remember it. I hope you guys are doing well. We need to get together! Maybe after school is out this week.

Katie told me about poor Brandon. Looks awful. I think I would have woken up! Maybe it was a good thing he didn't wake all the way up.

A random thought .... Today Papa Ralph would have been 90! He wouldn't have wanted being that old.

I found a spelling error and had to fix it!
