I love nature. I love 'getting away from it all'. I love to smell the air, see the beauty and listen for the sounds of nature. I love the peace & simplicity I can feel. And for a double whammy of sorts, I love to have music playing on the stereo as we drive along in nature. I love fall. I can't get enough of it. The colors, the smells, the cooler weather. Perhaps it's because I grew up in FL and lived in AZ for almost 6 and a half years; every year, it feels like a brand-new experience. As soon as September began, signs of fall were immediately apparent. Though there have been several 'more summer-like' days this month, I think the photos below are proof that fall has arrived. ...We went for a drive up the canyon and around the loop Friday evening. Even ate a picnic dinner near the meadow while the cows "moo"ed from only 25-35 feet away--I'm wondering, can a cow be territorial?? :) ...It was a mighty fine time with the fam..!
In the canyon, heading higher up. Shortly after I took this picture, Autumn blurted out with, "Oh look! A kangaroo!" Gave us all a good laugh. :)
Sittin' among the dried cowpies and eatin' our sandwiches. Peter said, "Hey look"; thus their expressions. Don't be fooled; though bright at that moment, it was only about 55 degrees and the clouds were quickly coming in.
On the other side of this mountain is where we live.

At Devil's Kitchen, looking south-easterly. The boys commented on how they'd like to go to Bryce Canyon. I agreed. Love the red rock & the hoodoos.
Looking eastward. Red hues are my favorite. |
