my friend

Bet ya didn't know that Ellen is my friend. :) It's true. I'm not certain when I began our relationship; I believe it was her second season (4 years ago). We don't know each other personally, but it's still a sweet bond. I'm not sure where I'd be without her in my life. Perhaps at the looney farm. She's been there for me through many a lonely, chaotic, depressed, insane, sad, angry and all-around difficult time. Her humor and positivity are wonderful. She's made me laugh every time we've rendezvoused. She's helped me remember my blessings in the bleakest of times. She makes me think. I learn things. I am reminded of the goodness in people & how happiness is attained through serving others. Sometimes I get goosebumps. Other times I find myself smiling w/tears in my eyes. And then most times, I am dancing (when she dances) while sitting on the couch/in the chair--I've even jumped to my feet and danced around the room a few times before. I admire her down-to-earth, go-with-the-flow attitude. I think it's neat how much she cares about animals, the environment and some issues like New Orleans' recovery (still) after hurricane Katrina. I enjoy getting to know others and being exposed to different kinds of music through her. And I hope I age as well as she has...I can't believe she is 50--she doesn't look a day over 40! ...I'm grateful for my friend. I'd missed her over the summer, so I was excited to see her again when season 6 just started this past Monday. Yay; I'm glad she's back. :)

How ironic...since I have been home with Collin, I have actually watched Ellen a couple of times (at least for a few minutes in snatches) and I like the dancing parts too. Collin and I dance with her.... I do like her as a talk show host.

my mom's best friend and her daughter were on the show that aired last tuesday (they got hd tivo's just for being in the audience!!!!) and they were shown on tv like 20 times because they were on the second row. my mom's best friend even got to dance with ellen when she came down her row. you should figure out how to get on the show yourself. you'd have a blast.
