the evening of October 27th. the school auditorium. (which is also the cafeteria, which is also the gym.) the grades before Ethan's section ran late, so we were more than ready for the spelling fest to begin. he was in competition with fellow 3rd graders, and 4th graders. they ended up moving on to the list for 5th graders at the end. luckily, i had thrown a handful (or two?) of those words at E before his group got started......
think, think, think... the girl on the far left supposedly has a bit of a crush on him. and she's the one he beat out last spelling bee. (don't ask me what the girl next to her is doin'..!)
concentrate, concentrate!
gotta love my Ethan's fashion-sense! ;-) ..."street" was the winning word for him...
this is how he really felt--just didn't show it until i took him out into the hallway to take a few more pics..! (which is probably for the best, since the previous picture was of the top 3.) it's a happy "VICTORY/I ROCK" sort of grimace, of course!!
