IIII want Caaandy!!!

As many of you know, I'm not a morning person...never have been. If I don't have anything going on, I like to lie back down in the mornings for a nap of sorts. Well, usually Peter gets the boys up and ready for school, so I only get up if Autumn needs a diaper change or something like that. When Peter is out of town--which he was for most of the week before last, or going to work earlier than normal--which was the case this past week, then it's up to me to take care of the boys. (I'm spoiled, I know.) So, on Thursday morning, I was particularly exhausted-feeling, and I vaguely remember hearing Autumn pushing one of the stools on the tile over to the cupboard area where the candy bowl was and then at some point, coming back to my bed-side and asking me to help her open a plastic egg w/jellybeans in it (or a candy wrapper; I can't remember which anymore). I figured she had helped herself to a few pieces of candy...I wasn't prepared for what I discovered when I came out to the family room...! I heaved a big sigh and said, "Autumn Sarah!" but rather than carry on in exclaiming my disapproval, I realized that it was my fault for 'laz-ing' in bed...and then I also thought that it was a little amusing, so I got the camera to document the scene I'd stumbled upon. I don't know how seriously she took me after that when I was cleaning it up and calmly, firmly telling her that we don't do this; we don't open up and lick so many lollipops and we don't then leave them on the carpet, etc. I know she knew she'd done something she shouldn't have, but she tried to disguise those feelings by engrossing herself with the show on Noggin. :) ...FYI--I moved the candy bowl so she can't get to it now, even with the stool, and she wasn't allowed to have any more candy the rest of the day...and, of course, I did some negative self-talk, criticizing my mothering...

What is noggin? I am assuming TV. Don't feel bad. My girls get into the TV too, it's just part of growing up. I am so lazy in the mornings even when I am not pregnant. I lay on the couch and tell HEidi and Candace step by step what to do to get ready for school why I am trying to stay awake. You are not a bad mom.
